What are stretch marks?

As a therapist, this is my understanding of stretch marks, : skin is elastic and, to a certain extent, will bounce from big to small to big to small, until you get older and start losing elasticity. Stretch marks are where the skin was stretched beyond its capacity for elasticity and this capacity became permanently damaged. Like a rubber band, it got stretched too far and 'snapped'.

So basically, A stretch mark comes from when the skin is stretched so far the body sees it as a wound. The body then starts healing from the inside using a "scar type collagen"

What is micro-needling?

Skin needling, also called micro-needling therapy, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a device that contains fine needles. The needles are used to puncture the skin to create a controlled skin injury.

To If the "damage" of the pierced skin is deep enough to effect the reticular dermis there is an inflammatory response to heal the areas, part of this response is to create new cartilaginous fibers to repair those that are damaged by the needles. The needles damage the skin in hopes of it creating new collagen in the areas and filling it back in.

Once the skin has been pierced, we "feed" the stretchmarks with Hyaluronic Acid & Collagen.
